Here I juxtaposed workers and industry of the past, present and future, utilizing a variety of techniques, from pointillism to hatching.
There are two self-portraits in the drawing: one on the far lower left – a downview of me drawing a model in my studio, and the other near the center between the man with the helmet and the coal miner. As you can see from the latter, I was quite exhausted after putting in over 40 hours of work to complete this piece, but it was well worth it.
As technology continues to advance, it will be interesting to see how much truth there was in my adolescent artistic predictions.
