Watercolor on Watercolor Paper, 10″x13″
One of my early portrait painting commissions from my teen years, I painted this adorable 2-year old toddler using a tiny wallet-sized reference photo; hence there was not much detail to go on. However, her beautifully innocent energy was evident regardless, and it was on this energy that I focused when rendering her likeness, resulting in a successful piece and a very happy client & proud father.
*Please excuse that the color and blending in this reproduction is a little off; I did not have access to a scanner at the time, so I could only xerox the painting before I could hand it over to my client, and for some reason it was not printing greens and overall created a rather blotchy print. Ah the trials of youth!
