Women’s History Month is upon us again, and to honor the achievement of woman, NoMAA is curating its annual “Women in the Heights” exhibition, where I have been chosen to debut the REVAMPED & FINAL version of my “I Have a Dream 2013” painting! The video will also be played at the show.
Since the painting’s premiere during MLK’s “I Have A Dream” 50th anniversary last year, I put in another 15+ hours last month (added to the over 100 hours I had already spent) to make sure all 57 people finally have a portrait. This is the first time everyone will get to see the revised and completed piece, and I am so excited to be able to share this with you all at this amazing venue!
The exhibit is FREE to attend and opening night is next Wednesday, March 5, from 6 – 8 pm:
NoMAA Gallery
178 Bennett Avenue, 3rd Floor
New York, NY 10040
Please RSVP to nomaaprog@nomaanyc.org and see more info here. There will also be an Artist Talk on March 19 at 6:30 pm where I will be speaking. I hope to see you all there!
After spending 15 additional hours on the “I Have a Dream 2013” painting I created for last year’s 50th Anniversary of Dr. King’s legendary speech, all the tiny portraits are finally finished!
I think a gallery show is in the works… Stay tuned!!
