This quote so reminds me of how I was when I was a little girl; so stubborn and headstrong. But sometimes it’s good to be stubborn. Never lose sight of the dream!
In April of 2011 I was honored to be chosen as one of three artists to participate in a charity art auction sponsored by Rawhouse Wine in New York City.
The theme of the event was “Rebirth” and in keeping with that idea, I handpainted a series of six bottles, each representing a phase of rebirth that has a personal meaning for me.
On July 27th, 2011, “A Celebration of Art” was held at the Juliet Supperclub in NYC, where the bottles were sold at auction, to benefit youth arts education. And I am pleased to say that four of the six bottles were sold that night, and the last two were sold in the ensuing weeks.
EDIT 12/2012: A year later, two of the beautiful photos that Rod Savant took of the bottles, were chosen to be printed and sold at auction to benefit Artistic Dreams International, an arts education nonprofit for whom Adesina also teaches drawing to underprivileged children in NYC.
The two below prints are available for purchase; please contact me here to order.
Special thanks to Rod Savant for his amazing photography.
I love what happens when art gets weird.
From the bottom of my heart…
