A third successful auction to benefit charity has been completed!
I’m so happy to announce that the March Art Auction to Benefit the Girl Scouts was a success!
The winning bid was placed by a generous contributor who raised $50 to benefit the Girl Scouts, a wonderful organization that builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. Read more about the Girl Scouts on their web site.

I’m super-psyched to start a new portrait for the winner! I’m going to be taking a month or two off from running these auctions to attend to a couple of other exciting charity projects here in NY, so thank you so much to all who bid and/or spread the word — Together we can, and HAVE made a difference! 🙂

Yes, visual art can be video as well as traditional media!
And I had a great time shooting the Women Inspired exhibit for my new online show about creativity, awareness & philanthropy this past Monday. The footage looks great and while I work on the edit, I wanted to give a big thank you to Curator and Artist Andrea Arroyo (pictured above with me), Professional Women Photographers, as well as El Taller Latino Americano. And of course heartfelt thanks to my favorite cameraman & awesome PA – it’s a team effort. 🙂

I am having so much fun working on this portrait for one of my Art Auction winners. It is always a pleasure delineating the face of a lovely woman. But as I work, it gets me to thinking about all of the other wonderful women and girls in the world, and how, in honor of Women’s History Month, I’d like to help them with my next Charity Art Auction.
I have already narrowed it down to three of my favorites:
– Women for Women (Helping women survivors of war)
– Girls Scouts USA (Builds girls of courage, confidence, & character)
– Equality Now (Ending gender violence & discrimination)

Another successful auction to benefit charity has been completed!
I am so happy to announce that the February Art Auction to Benefit Room to Read was a success!
The winning bid was placed by a kind contributor from New York, and raised $51 to benefit Room to Read, a worldwide charity that promotes children’s literacy by encouraging children in developing countries to build a habit of reading. They also promote gender equality in education. The full amount was sent directly through the eBay Giving Works program to Room to Read, to support their programs.
